I am a PGCE-qualified tutor who holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), with over 20 years of experience in the education sector. My background covers primary, secondary, and SEND settings, with a core focus on Key Stage 2 (Years 3 to 6) and 11+ preparation. Over the years, I have consistently helped children build genuine confidence and secure coveted places at leading grammar and independent schools.

My Own Journey

Before I taught the 11+, I sat it myself. I passed the Trafford Grammar Schools' exam and the entrance tests for Manchester’s most competitive selective and independent schools - including Cheadle Hulme School, Manchester High School for Girls, Withington Girls' School and Stockport Grammar School - ultimately attending Withington Girls' School.

That firsthand experience left me with a profound understanding of exactly what these entrance exams demand of a child, both academically and emotionally. It is an insider perspective that inspires my highly responsive approach, helping students overcome obstacles and build genuine confidence.

For my parents, English was not their first language, and the British education system was completely unfamiliar to them. Despite the barriers, they were fiercely determined that I would have access to every opportunity available. That included investing in tuition for me growing up, and I know from my own experience the life-changing difference it made.

This personal history is exactly why I do this work. I know how much it matters, and I approach it with the utmost seriousness whenever a family places their trust in me.
